One of the surviving defensive installations of Pskov is the Vlasyevskaya Tower, which was built in the 15th century.

In the old days, the Vlasyevskaya Tower housed customs, and through it the only passage gates to the central part of the city, from the ferry from the side of Zavelichia. Merchants and guests rose from the Vlasyevsky Gate to the Old Bargain (today - Lenin Square). Since the gates were located in the tower itself - they were always locked at night with wooden alignments with a lowing iron grate and carefully guarded.

Today Vlasyevskaya Tower is a remake, recreated in 1966. The modern tower is a real memory of the one genuine, which was also repeatedly rebuilt and improved.
