Olginsky chapel.



Old Estate Hotel continues to acquaint its subscribers with the wonderful sights of Pskov, which are located near our hotel. Today we will talk about the Olga chapel.

The Great Equal-to-the-Apostles Princess Olga is the first Christian in Russia. Legend connects the foundation of Pskov and the first Trinity Cathedral with her name. The place where the princess saw three sunbeams above the hill is marked by a chapel. Three rays - a symbol of the Holy Trinity. This vision indicated to the ruler where to build the city and the temple. According to legend, Olga commanded to put in memory of this event an oak cross.

In the XIX century, when, with the fate of the royal family, the Holguin society began to operate in Russia, a chapel of neoclassical forms was established here.
